Throughout my ministry, I have had the opportunity to serve side by side with many gifted Associate Ministers. I know the value of dedicated leaders that are using their God-given skills and talents on a church staff. The position is invaluable to the senior minister and the overall ministry of the church.
I would like to personally encourage you to join us this fall at Country Lake Retreat Center for The Associate Minister’s Gathering. Our time together will focus on the unique role you fill. My ministry is happy to sponsor The Associate Gathering and I look forward to both speaking and meeting each of you.
A word from Tim Anderson…
Having served as an associate for 38 years, I have found numerous retreats, forums, and gatherings directed toward lead pastors, executive pastors, youth ministers, and other general leadership roles within the church. There are very few opportunities for the unique role of an associate minister in all of the various roles (general associate, worship, small groups, missions, men’s, and the list goes on). As you know, being an associate in the local church carries its own unique challenges and opportunities.
Supported by Bob Russell Ministries, a movement to host a gathering for associates was conceptually started in December of 2012 for the purpose of encouragement, equipping, and empowering. Through surveys, conversations, and events, we have learned what associate ministers desire during retreat gatherings. Our inaugural Associate Minister’s Gathering was held November 3-5, 2014. This will be our ninth Gathering in 2024 and we look forward to building on what we have learned.
AMG features times of relaxation, conversation, and discussion-based forums where topics key to associates in adult ministries of all sizes are explored. Together, we gain perspective, learn new ideas, and network with others doing the same types of ministry in the church. Our goal is that it will be a relaxed, fun time that will refresh you and your ministry. Also, this year we wish to honor your spouse by inviting them to come if they wish for no charge.
